[ QUOTE ]
I turned 25 in September.

I am a professional poker player. Online I am a proposition limit hold'em player, stakes ranging from 2/4 to 15/30, mostly in the upper end of that range. Live I play all forms of limit poker, 15/30 and up to, on one memorable occasion, 75/150 w/ full kill. This is my third year as a professional and by far my most profitable one.

I am single. I have, in fact, never had a real girlfriend, just one night stands and awkward quasi-relationships. I'm kind of at a loss for why this is.

I am almost never what I would call 'happy.' I am generally 'meh' spiced with semi-regular intervals of 'miserable' or 'flipping the [censored] out.' As best I can tell, this is largely due to loneliness and low social capital. I live among strangers, my work and primary recreation are very poor social outlets, and my friends in Atlanta, in one way or another, simply don't have the time / energy / inclination to be much more than casual, occasional acquaintances. This problem dominates my life and my thinking, yet I don't really have the tools or the temperament to come up with any ready solutions. On the other hand, I do what I please and have more money than I currently really know what to do with, which have got to be serious plusses in a lifestyle.

This doesn't make any sense to me at all. Wasn't it just a few months ago you went busto playing .25/.5nl?

Student at UWE, Bristol - Poker NL50-NL100
Single

I am not happy with where I am. I want to be the best I can be at poker and although I am still playing the game I feel I am not progressing as fast as I would have liked. I have logged 330k hands lifetime and made £6k all be it a chunk of it at NL1k shortstacking when I had very little poker knowledge. However I still feel I should be at NL100+ now, moving into NL200. Some things havn't gone my way, but that's life.

University is only 4 weeks old and is currently going badly, poor attendance and too many late nights at the local B&M casino. I am going to get drunk some more and sleep with some more girls, this won't make me feel any happier I am sure, but I feel it's got to be done.

Overall happiness: 8/10 = heavily contented.

I'm a 21 yo math major at brown. I came to school thinking that I'd major in physics, switched to math eventually after realizing I didn't really like physics pretty quickly. Also realized I don't like math, but I'm a senior so it's too late to change.

Pretty nervous about the future. Don't really want to end up playing poker for a living, but that definitely seems to be the way my life is heading. Can't really think of something I'd rather do.

I'm pretty happy right now, though, when I don't think about the future. I basically just hang out with a different small circles of friends who know me really well and who I'm really comfortable around.

Edit: I play NL400 and NL600 right now, but I barely get in any hands cause of school and friends.
