Does that this is an obvious fold not make it +EV for villain to C/R here with anything? This thought always vexes me in this spot.

Or, to be more clear about it, does that fact that OP will have a pretty wide range, will C-bet a lot, and will habitually put villain on a TPTK or better hand when he c/r's make it +EV for villain to just call and c/r any dry flop?

Ortho, the problem is that there is no history between the players. If the OP had this particular villain do this a lot then I could understand but at this moment in time OP has been shown strength which generally is a set or possibly AA/KK. Anyways it is always a good idea to start tight and loosen up. The other way round (start loose and tighten up) only works when players stay for over 100 hands!
