Obviously one of the best things you can do is to reduce your mouse travel time per day. Something like macro express can make an extreme difference.

Not sure what tasks you are spending most of your time performing but here are some examples where you could probably make significant cuts in your mouse movements:

Poker -- using a folding macro alone will save you a ton of travel time. If everything is automated you don't even need to use a mouse. I was initially afraid of looking like a bot, but a PS support person actually recommended macro express when I emailed them suggesting they adopt keyboard shortcuts like AP.

Web surfing -- one keypress/mouse button to close windows, bring up browser ready with google search

General -- probably my most useful macro is a window close assigned to one of my mouse buttons. Think how much travel time you have per day darting the mouse pointer to the extreme corner.

I have barely scratched the surface (in terms of improving my input efficiency) because I am I think, immune to CT. I have played 36 hour frantic quake sessions in horribly un-ergo setups (as an extreme example) + x number of years of practically constant mouse movement/typing at home/work. So, I never really felt the need for more then a few macros.

If your worried about CT you should also look at changing to a ergo keyboard. Arguably the most extreme (and effective) is the datahand. Takes a bit of getting used to, but pretty cool.

Wireless mouse + clipboard + mousepad = portable mouse station. I usually have it in my lap. I like it...never really had problems with CT.

Microsoft has a wireless ergonomic mouse, I guess that one is somewhat vertical as well

Does anyone have any suggestions for chairs?

I have a Steelcase Leap and it's amazing, zero back pain after years of struggling in other office chairs. The Aeron and Humanscale Freedom are also quite popular. I recommend trying out a few as each person is different.

Also, anyone try this mouse yet? Looks interesting.
