Default My first NL session - 2hands

Hi SSNL,

I am a 6max limit player trying to learn NL. One thing I have noticed immediately is I need to learn the betting structure.

Any comments/suggestions are appreciated.

Hand 1

BB 75/33/4 45hands and is playing erratic/like a maniac
UTG just joined the table an orbit before and no reads

Party Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
5 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $26.93
Hero: $36.15
Button: $10.10
SB: $13.40
BB: $21.08

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
UTG raises to $1, Hero raises to $1.75, 2 folds, BB calls, UTG calls.

Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($5.35, 3 players)
BB checks, UTG bets $4, Hero folds

Hand 2

Hand 1: I'm not sure how I feel about reraising an unknown preflop raiser with AJo. It might be ok considering position, but then I would probably raise more, maybe $3 or $4. Minraises are an advanced move. Folding the flop is fine.

Hand 2:
I play it the same.

Welcome to NL, a world where double digit PTBB/100 is possible. Here is my advice.

Hand 1 - raising from the CO w/ AJo is fine, but raise bigger. Raise to $3.50 - $4.00. That said, I usually fold AJo to a UTG raise.
Flop - GF

Hand 2: Again raise more. You want to make it 4xBB + 1BB per limper, so raise to $1.25. On the flop, I would raise to about $6, fold to a push. You have the NFD with KK, so even if SB has the flush, (s)he will prob give a free river if you decide to take it.

GL, and post lots of hands, this is a complex yet highly profitable game.
