Live STT
Live game.
dont know much about any of the players, its my 2nd time playing at this venue. starting chips are 2000, blinds are 50/100(starts at 25/50), going up every full round. my chip stack is 1300, had made a raise earlier on with AK and a continuation bet which i folded to an all in reraise(he showed a set) anyway, the hand. UTG(Me)1300 Kh Kc SB 2200 Button 2000 I raise to 300. Button calls. Villian calls. flop Ac Qs 5d Pot 1000 SB checks. U checks. Button Checks. Turn: 8s Pot 1000 SB bets 200 I call 200 Button folds. River: 2h Pot 1400 SB bets 600 ** I think for a fair while, at the flop, i really thought he had the intention of check raising by his really fast check, although ive never played with this guy before, it was his second hand. i flip over the KK and even show him, to see if i can get a read, but he seemed confident, and i ended up folding. IF i call, and lose vs any Ace, i had 200 chips left, If i call and win, my chip stack is 3000.** Is this is a really bad fold? i put him on an ace on the flop, semi spite called him on the turn, and in a tough decision on the river. anyway, your thoughts plz |

Re: Live STT
C/B flop here to find out if you are any good. Checking here leaves pot open for villain to stab on turn, and you have no idea how good you are in the hand.
Remember you lead out with strength, so represent it here on the flop. As played, I would fold with no reads... BTW, welcome to the boards. |

Re: Live STT
I like the way you played it.
A couple things from your thoughts though. I quick check is usually weak, not strong. When someone quickly checks it usually means they have nothing to think about. They are more likley to take some time to decide if they want to c/r. Also, flipping up your cards during a tournament would usually mean your hand is dead. This is a cash game trick. |
