weird. Ive played on bodog for about 1.5-2 years now and have never ever had a single problem with them. I get most of my cashouts within an hour, and their customer service has been pretty damn good.

Same here. Support has been helpful, and their cashouts have been quick. My only negative experience with them was their awful "update" rollout last year.

No, none of them lost. It was definately an easy 3k profit. It seems to me that the whole reason they are feeding us this syndicate BS is because they got pissed when they realized how easy it was.

Did you guys login from the same IP? How did they connect your accounts?

Also, any other good upcoming sportsbets to make?

[/ QUOTE ]

No we didnt login from the same IP.

When I made my account and the placed the bets, I had only talked to MLG once in my life and it was on AIM earlier that day.

When bodog told me my account had been linked to someone elses they asked if I knew a guy named (MLG's real name) and I told them the truth that I had no idea who that was. (At the time I was not aware that they were giving MLG the same hassle, I figured they just wanted to confirm my ID b/c I was cashing out a pretty sizeable amount. I was also a bit worried that I may have had made a bodog account in the past for poker and forgetten about it when I openned this new one. It turns out I had not.)

I later realized that the name matched the initials MLG...and a talking to him made it obvious that it was our two accounts they had linked.

I think the fact that I didnt even know his name ended up hurting us in the end because I'm pretty sure they thought I was totally full of [censored] when I said I didnt recognize the name they mentioned.

When they were telling me about their final decision the guy asked specifically how many times I had talked to MLG and I told him the truth which was that we had talked 3 or 4 times on aim over the course of a few weeks. His response was extrememely skeptical at which point I asked if he wanted me to pull up my aim logs and give him the exact times and dates of our convos. He then said something along the lines of "so you claim to not know him very well
but you were willing to trust him with $20,000?" At this point I obviously attempted to point out how completely ridiculous his question was but I also realized that I had no chance of changing their mind based on the fact that their assumptions were far-reaching enough to be willing to make such a stupid accusation. (The accusation basically being that I wasnt betting for myself and was instead letting MLG use my account to make bets exceeding the max win of $50, or possibly that both of our accounts were mere pawns for a third party in order to exceed the maximums)

I would suspect that the thread in the 2+2 sports betting forum on this didn't help you much either as that thread lead to these lines getting hit by many others all at the same time. Plus, it sounded like a few others opened accounts at Bodog just to hit these lines.

To Bodog, this has to look like an organized attempt to pound their soft lines. In a way, that is what it was. The only diffence between this and a syndicate is that the syndicate pools its money. The rub is that there is no way for Bodog to know is the money is pooled or not.

I was not aware this thread existed but Im not surprised because MLG mentioned hearing about this play from another 2p2er I think. I agree it probably didnt help our situation.

Bodog pulled this kind of crap before. Wasn't there a thread here about how they didn't honor a bet on the WSOP?

You remind me of the neighbor who exclaims "But he was such a fine young man!" as the police lead a serial killer away in handcuffs.

In their defense that was an obviously bad line posted at 40-1, and reopened the line at 4-1 which was still a soft line and accepted bets on it.

this happens all the time at sports betting sites. i think its complete bs that a site can post a bad line, then refuse to honor it.

I don't think its BS. Suppose they posted a 1,000,000-1 line and people bet heavily on it, should they honor it then even though it means certain bankruptcy if their customers win?
