UB table mods
I've seen a lot of requests for Ultimate Bet mods. I finally got around to doing this for myself and thought I'd post the steps.
UB graphics are stored in resource dlls. There are a bunch in the UB directory. The tables are in resSplash.dll but there are others. This is how you mod a table: 1. download PE Explorer http://www.heaventools.com/ 2. open resSplash.dll (make a backup first!) 3. select View/Resources from the menu 4. find a table under IMAGE 5. right-click on the image and Copy 6. paste the image into an image editor (Photoshop, Jasc Paint Shop Pro...) 7. edit. The easiest edit is to take the table with black background and fill the background with another color. For my own edits, I've taken the ub logo off the table using the clone tool in PSP. 8. copy your image to the clipboard 9. back in PE Explorer, double-click on the table number under IMAGE 10. paste your image into the Replacement source. Click OK. Save your results. If you want to get fancy and complete, when you change the tabletop, you need to edit the folded card bitmaps because they contain parts of the table. They are in res2D.dll. Good luck. |

Re: UB table mods
And here I thought I was gonna be all cool tonight and post this information. I finally got around to cracking the dll's open last night (and you don't need to pay for a Resource Editor to do so, google "XN Resource Editor").
Anyway, I'm no good with designs, but I thought if I posted links to the card graphics, some enterprising 2+2ers might feel led to take some the commonly used mod cards on this site and fit them into the UB template. One difference at UB is that "your" cards are in a larger format (since the table gets rotated to put you at the front) and are pieced together, so I'm not expecting to see much done with that one, but the other players' cards and the community cards have a nice single file template like most other sites do. Re: UB table mods
just tried a simple table mod using the free XN editor and paint shop pro. still needs some work if you notice the green outlines, which means I will have to get in and edit around the chips and chairs. anyway, kinda cool.

Re: UB table mods
i'm sooooo close to having a nice "charcoal" based theme for UB. Trouble is there are so damned many .dll files to search through, I haven't found the chairs yet.
If anyone has located the file locations for the chairs, let me know and I'll finish up. |

Re: UB table mods
Chairs are in res2D.dll resource number 22012 and 22015. What a challenge to edit them though! Good luck if you try.

Re: UB table mods
I use UB and would be interested in a new table mod, maybe cards too!

I did a modified card set - with one problem - I can modify the community cards with no problem, but your hole cards are almost impossible to change. I'm afraid it might cause some confusion. Anyone care to post their thoughts on the card issue? *warning - just so nobody is mislead, I charge for most of my table mods |
