I'm not mocking him. If some body had given me a date rape drug, and I didn't remember anything, I'd wanna get my ass checked out. And if I'd been forcibly sodomized while I was unconscious, that would be much more important to me than the loss of the money.

Personally, I can't think why anyone would want to minimize the importance of this line of investigation -- unless they happened to be a participant to the unlawful penetration, and didn't want their actions to be discovered.
