I used to play in a micro stakes home game when younger.

I would beat it like a drum yet no one ever lost.

Funny that.

The majority of players are just plain full of crap about their winnings and vastly underestimate the factor of luck in this game. If OP is being truthful, it's called "running extremely well".

Take a look at last year's Pokerstars leaderboard and plug those names into OPR. Many of them are having a losing year including quite a few superstars of the past.

Poker, and gambling in general, works for the "winners" because of the nature of people to willingly enter a state of self-deception. I heard the cashier at the gas station today telling another cashier about a "system" that a customer had for winning playing scratch-off lottery tickets. The poker player in me wanted to point out that such a system is impossible, but I held my tongue. People want to deceive themselves, and who am I to correct them? Nearly every time in the past when I have, I have been argued with, usually irrationally.

Moral: Smile and take their chips.

As with most people, I do much better at the casino than I do online. There are all kinds of theories as to why that is generally the case. Some of it is probably the fact that at the casino, you are playing against work-a-day people on holiday for the weekend with cash burning holes in their pockets, not multi-tabling semipros who have poker libraries and give seminars on tells.

I don't "crush" the games, but last time I was in AC, I left with 3x my buy-in. But I was running well.

I'll go out on a limb and say no one who is entering a $40 home game tourney is a pro.

That is a crazy theory you are putting out.
