High Red Zone Question?
Lets say I've just let the blinds go by and in effect have gone from an Orange Zone stack to a High Red Zone Stack
ie.) Blinds 1000/2000 with a stack of 15K on the dealer button. That would give me an M = 5 which means push with any two. Someone in early position limps in, and everyone folds to you and you pick up a hand that can easily be dominated.... ie.) K2, Q5, A9 and lower, etc .... Should I pass since there is already a limper, and hands that would call my all in might dominate my holding? And maybe wait for a T9, 76, Ax etc? |

Re: High Red Zone Question?
Being in the red zone doesn't mean push with any two. It means any bet you make is going to be A/I. You can still go by the blinds (once, maybe twice) to find a favorable spot to push.

Re: High Red Zone Question?
IMHO opinion, read on the limper is very important.
Is he a fish trying to see a cheap flop or a smart trappy player waiting for a raiser? Push or fold depending on read. |

IMHO opinion, read on the limper is very important. Is he a fish trying to see a cheap flop or a smart trappy player waiting for a raiser? Push or fold depending on read. [/ QUOTE ] 99% of the time it's fold. Too much danger of the "Oh, I'm already in the hand, may as well call" attitude. The FE first-in vigorish cannot and should not be underestimated. BTW - if I see a shortstack who's on desperation mode yet to act - I WILL NOT limp in a hand that I cannot call his/her push with. If I have like A9o late and the shorty is in BB - I JUST MAY raise to put them all-in (to increase my own FE). Someone limped - depending on limper's position and my position and stack sizes - I may throw away AJo (NOT frequently, but I've done that)... |
