Default how big a skill difference is there between the 3.40s and 6.50s?

i recently just moved up from 3.40s to 6.50s on stars and my results have suffered a lot. My roi over about 900+ games was 18% at the 3.40s. Since i have moved up my roi is -2% over around 100 games, i guess my question is am i just hitting a downswing at the wrong time or is there really that big a difference in skill?.

100 games is nothing, I'd guess the difference in skill is somewhere between "slim" and "none"

It's just variance. I wouldn't expect there to be too much difference between the $3.40s and $6.50s either.

There will be a slightly higher proportion of competent players who understand basic strategy, and a slightly lower proportion of clueless villains who will stack off on the river with 22 on an AKQTT two tone board ...

But it's all read dependent - there are idiots and competent players at every buy-in. Most likely adjustments required are pushing looser and calling pushes tighter. If you multitable, cut back until you're confident of your game.

There are about 1 or 2 more regulars per table at the 6.5's.
I saw just a few winning multitable winning players at the 3.4's and I see 1/2 per table at the 6.5's.
Also maybe one real bad player less.
Overal you should be able to beat the 6.5's if you beat the 3.4.
18% ROI looks more than good enough to me.

regulars on 6.5s are awful...with some study and patience you should be able to crush the 6.5s
