AJ on AJT board - should I fold?
BossMedia $5k guaranteed 11R
About 60 players left from 300, first 20 payed. Average tournament stack is about 10k. Blinds 400/800 ante 50. I have been moved some short time before to the table, so no reads on villian, but he seems rather tight and straight forward, not playing many hands. Villian is BB (22k chips) Hero is MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (16k chips) Hero raises to 2000. Villian calls Others fold. Flop comes A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], pot 4900. Villian checks. Hero bets 2000. Villian raises to 10000. Hero ?? Can I fold here? Yes I can. Should I? Is he obtained to have nuts here? Any comments apreciated. |

Re: AJ on AJT board - should I fold?
If villain plays straight forward, he is reraising AA and JJ, and probably TT. He might have KQ, but would he raise to 10k with that? I think a smaller bet is more likely. So reraise all-in. You'll see a flushdraw/AJ/AT/Ax more often than a better hand.

You have to push, no way your behind here. I predict AT or worse.

I wouldn't even be surprised if he had AK. A lot of people just call with it at that level.

Re: AJ on AJT board - should I fold?
Quickly shove. You have 1/4 of your stack in the middle on a gin flop. You're only behind 1 likely hand, and miles ahead of a dozen others. His range likely includes Ax+, K10+, 10J+ as well as naked flush draws. Stick it in expecting to double.
