Is calling more profitable here?
Is flat calling his flop bet into me a more profitable play here? Given my equity I think it's alright to raise but if he is weak leading into me do I want to scare him off with a re-raise here?

Re: Is calling more profitable here?
I don't think flat calling has more value here. Any stats on villain btw?

Re: Is calling more profitable here?
No stats on the villain at that point in time. Perhaps I could extract more value by calling as he wouldn't be calling a re-raise with a hand stronger than my own?

Re: Is calling more profitable here?
The disadvantage in calling is that you might not get any more money out of him if a diamond hits on the turn , Raising here might still win you a big pot against KJ,QJ if the flush doesnt hit , and u have outs against a set.
i think raising is the better play. |

Re: Is calling more profitable here?
You are a big favorite to win the hand at this point unless villain has a set. I raise for value here. On the turn, your equity will be much lower and then you probably have left money on the table. And a raise here can give you a free river card if you think that you can't make villain fold with a bet on the turn or you are uncertain about how much value a turn bet has.

Re: Is calling more profitable here?
I don't totaly agree on reraising here. I'll explain my thoughtproces:
You flop a pretty awesome hand, you have TPTK and the nut flushdraw unless someone makes a straightflush offcorse. He donks into you after limping utg, with what kind of hands would he donk into you? -KJ, QJ type of hands -2 diamonds -a set (but i think a set would check/raise) -a weaker pocketpair If we reraise now we might lose the KJ, QJ type of hands, maybe some weak diamonds aswell. We also lose the weaker pocket pairs. A set would shove and we'd be around a 30:70 underdog. If we reraise here we also lose SB for sure, just calling might drag the SB along. Anyone with me on this one? |
