Re: I have Flush, villain bets 1/2 pot on river, do I raise for value
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Looks like he has AK and is planning on folding to a raise. If he can read hands then it's obvious that he doesn't beat anything even if you minraise. On this end I would just call or minraise/fold at best. [/ QUOTE ] Well, he sure as [censored] isn't calling a raise with AK if you don't give him the opportunity to do so by just calling. Min-raise/fold is beyond retarded. Look at stack sizes. Just shove for value. He can't make a hero call with AK/AA unless you put him to that decision. Oh, and raise the flop. WTF. [/ QUOTE ] Perfect advice really. I've started to think about paying you to coach me . How much do you charge? |

Re: I have Flush, villain bets 1/2 pot on river, do I raise for value
I prefer raising the flop here. The one player behind us doesn't have much of a stack so we don't need to worry too much about him. I make it about $40 although I don't think calling is bad.
As others have said, make it at least $30 on the turn. As a nit I sometimes call this river but I can see arguments for value shoving given stack sizes. |

What exactly is everyone implying when they say 'given stack sizes'?

Given how much he has left to call and the pot size after we shove, we can get looked up by a lot of worse hands imo

Preflop looks pretty bad. You're going to be in terrible relative position and actualy position. You called a raise by the only decent player at the table, even if you knew it was going to be a multiway pot, i don't like it.
FLOP - I'd just raise the flop and call a push. I think raising the flop will get 88-QQ to fold all day against an observant opponent, since they'll notice theirs a player to act behind u. |
