UTG+1 limps. Folded to SB who completes. I take the free check. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

SB checks. I figure that I have TPNK and am also vulnerable to pretty much any overpair (probably well within an early position limper's range), but even if I'm beat right now, I have a redraw to a straight. I bet. UTG + 1 folds. SB pulls the old check-raise. I call.

I don't know what to think about this hand. What do you think? I'd also be curious to hear how you folks would feel play on this hand would differ if i didn't have the redraw to the straight. Do I hold on as long with a TPNK vulnerable to overpairs? Should I have even bet the flop in that scenario?

Has he ever check-raised you before? Have you been betting often in these situations (like I do all the time)?

I just might show this one down. Part of me wants to think he's playing a game of chicken because he doesn't believe you have any piece of this flop. I think either way, calling down will get good information. You'll either see some hand that beats you that probably should have just bet the flop or you'll see a weaker one pair hand that probably should have just bet the flop.

Maybe we can 3 bet the flop and test villain a little. We can then call if capped and fold UI on the turn (ortake a free card if offered) I think we can get away from this hand that way most of the times we are behind or if we haven't gotten away we will see showdown cheaply.

folding the turn is ludicrous.

Ya.. we probably couldn't since we would be offered 6.5:1 on the turn bet if villain 4 bet the flop.

If he just calls our flop three and donks the turn it is closer though depending on how many of our outs we think are good. Gets kind of read dependent there I think.

Given the information we have, I play it the same. I don't really think we are ahead often enough to call the river. If I really thought we were ahead, I would 3-bet the flop.

I must admit I would be tempted to call on the river to see what he check-raised with. I expect to be beat more than 1 in 6 times though so I would do it knowing I shouldn't really be doing it!
