HU, OOP with a mid-PP in a blind defense.
I was told I missed too many bets. How do you play this?
3-6 AP 6-man. Villian is a 2+2er, and a "pro" SSSH AP player. We have TONS of recent history, mostly because we both multiple table and play alot. We've been in lots of recent blind battles. Villain may see me as overly defensive of my blinds, pretty loose, and probably thinks I get a sick joy out of engaging in blind battles with them. I'm in the BB with 88, no spade. fold, UTG+1 limps, fold, Villian on button Raise, SB folds, I 3bet, limper folds, Villian calls. Flop K22, two spades. I bet, Villain raises, I call. Turn meaningless brick. I check, Villian checks. River K. check, check. River check was solely done because I thought I had the hand figured out and thought there was no chance of geting a call if I bet, but maybe a small chance that it would be bet if I checked. I was pretty sure Villian didnt have an ace, and thought a call with Q high wouldnt happen. Completly standard here? should I have B/C the flop and B/F the turn? I have seen the villian try and pick up my blinds with marginal hands in steal position but felt the addition of the limper narrowed the PF range somewhat. |

Bet the river. No one folds A high on a double paired board.

wtf did villain have?
Flop and turn are fine IMO River: Bet if he calls with A high. C/c is bad IMO. The fact that he might have 44-66 makes me hate c/f as well. So prolly b/f. Again. Wtf did he have? |

I agree with oink. flop and turn are good.
standard b/f on the river. c/c on the river is pretty bad. |

I think this is a pretty easy value bet on the river. He will have an ace sometimes and sometimes he will call a bet. I think it is more likely that he has a 33-77 and he is never folding these hands to your bet. I play the flop and turn the same.

C/F was never part of the equation.
IMO villian would almost always call with an ace, or PP. After I'm passifed by the flop bet is any A or PP checking the turn though? Doesnt any thinking Villian now assume I dont have a K becuase I didnt 3 bet the flop and give it a shot to see if I'll fold my AJ ish kind of hand? |

Re: HU, OOP with a mid-PP in a blind defense.
He could have the nut flush draw and play like this. He could have tested his Ace hi on the flop, and disliked your flop call so decided to take a free card. Same thing with a pp. whether he played his hand well is another question.

Nut-flush is not turn checked by this Villian IMO

IMO there isnt any hand in his range that is well played |
