Pocket jacks on wrong monotone board.
His action on the turn really made it feel like a hand with a big spade, but with the check I figured there are still a number of hands I can get value out of on the river. Is this too thin?

Re: Pocket jacks on wrong monotone board.
Not too thin, people @5/10 can't even fold As3 here.

Re: Pocket jacks on wrong monotone board.
When I made the bet I felt confident because a hand that had me beat would have to bet the turn usually, but of course the results were a different story.

Re: Pocket jacks on wrong monotone board.
the river bets pretty easy i think after this action, the only question is whether u would make more money letting him bluff again ( i dont think so). ck folding isnt an option.
The most interesting part of this hand is the flop and then the plan for the hand thereafter if he bets a blank turn ect |

Re: Pocket jacks on wrong monotone board.
Trying to induce a bluff on the river ? I think it's a good board to do it.

Re: Pocket jacks on wrong monotone board.
I dont think I can find a fold on the flop, my plan was to c/c turn assuming a blank and probably fold the river.

Re: Pocket jacks on wrong monotone board.
I think given the action its a bad spot to try to induce a bluff but this is just my opinion/perception of which line gives us more value, inducing a bluff or betting to get called by worse hands. I dont see villains ck behind the turn and bluff the river when u ck again nearly as often as I see them pay off anything after they ck behind the turn (he could have a worse pair +fd type hand planning to call any river)just becuz after they ck behind the turn they expect u to call with anything on the river with showdown value.
I think any made hand bets the turn like 95% of the time here so Im pretty sure we have the winner its just a matter of which line extracts more for worse hands? |

Re: Pocket jacks on wrong monotone board.
Well I mean I would have to give respect to a preflop cap, a flop raise, a turn bet, and a river bet. But once the turn is checked, just like you said I was not going to attempt to induce a river bluff.

Re: Pocket jacks on wrong monotone board.
I gotta think Ace high will call here nearly 75% of the time but would only bet a quarter of the time.

Re: Pocket jacks on wrong monotone board.
I think I just run into some weak/tight players sometimes. He ended up having QQ no spade.
