Default My Balla Story (NC)

Seeing that the first two pages of the forum are full of content less posts right now I decided I’d add one more.

I’m 18 years old and started playing poker in December of 2003. At that time I was working as a JANITOR at the YMCA here for $7.00. After losing about $100 in .25/.50 home games and $10 freeze out I started to crush these home games although it came at the expense of a lot of my close friends, . I was making around $300 a month, which to a brokeass high school student is a lot of money. The games started to get less frequent as many of my jobless peers went broke, but the weekly games that were spread started to be higher stakes. The most I ever won in one of these home games was $450, which luckily enough was only $50 short of what I needed to pay an lawyer to get a MIP (Minor in Poession), off my record. Eventually, I made enough to quit cleaning toilets and concentrate on school and poker. During the summer of 04, when I was 17, I found a fun way to blow al the poker money I won in town, BLACKJACK! I ended up losing about 2K playing blackjack before my 18th birthday, but at least I learned never to play a table game again(I haven’t in around a year). The home games became less and less frequent and since I blew my whole bankroll playing blackjack I found myself near broke yet again.

Around this time in December 2004, I found the 2+2 forums and I needed 2grand in a hurry. As spring break was only 3 months away and as my parents refused to pay for me getting drunk and hooking up with ran dom hot girls in a forgien country, I needed money fast in order to go with my friends. So I started bonus whoring all the party skins and earned enough money right before the payment was due. After Spring Break I didn’t play much poker until after graduation, was just too busy having fun (PARTYING!!). haha. On June 15th, after graduation I signed up with a rakeback deal on eurobet and deposited $1000 and started 4 tabling the 55s, as the few months prior to this I was playing a few 22s a week and crushing them, with the help of all the regular forum posters here of course..

And I started off on a [censored] heater. Within in a week I had tripled my bankroll and was feeling like quite a balla. From there on out there was no more natty ice or popov at parties, I was only drinking corona and occasionally some hypnotic . Since then I’ve just crushed the 55s. I have no stats because of Eurobet’s shitty hand histories, but I’ve paid about $7,000 in rake since June 15th and have cashed out $10,000 and still have $5,500 in my account, without reloading. I’ve dabbled in the 109s with little success and have recently started to 8 table the 55s and continue to do quite well. I had 1.5k weeklong downing but in the midst of all this success it didn’t even phase me. Being immune to bad beats is imo just as important to success as knowing how to play correctly.
During the same period of time I’ve also made $1500 on Empire since I started 8 Tabling and lost $1200 playing heads up on stars(0-2 in $500 matches). I’ve had minimal success playing 10/20 (-.05BB/100) and 600NL (3BB/100) online over a small sample. I can’t figure out why because I’m aboustly crushing the 10/20 game at the Soaring Eagle casino here for 1.5BB/hour over 100 hours this summer.

I don’t think this post turned out too exciting but all I really wanted to say was thanks. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, opinion and theories about this amazing game and helping me become richer then anyone I know my age .

In case your wondering I’ve spent my money on a 2001FP, a $3000 Laptop, paid for my first semester of college at Michigan State, bought a lot of expensive liquor and some good bud and still have a 10k roll, and plan on still playing 15+ hours a week.

Thanks again, I think this post might of been kind of boring so flame away.

GG NO RE. THAX.

Hey man. Just noticed this post when I searched for soaring eagle. I go there from time to time.

Just wondering if you have played the 6/12 game there and compare it to 10/20? I have always been able to kill the 6/12. I guess they have NL tables there now too. I haven't been in a while but a buddy of mine was there about 2 weeks ago and said they did.

I am actually transferring from a community college and headed to MSU next year. Right now its about a 3 hour drive for me to get to the casino but what is it from there? like an hour?

maybe with enough work I can ball like you and not drink natty ice and popov

later

What a great bump.
I only wish that there had been some haters that responded before his forum coming out party at STTF HUC II.

Haha, I can't tell if those spelling mistakes were intentional or not but they were hilarious. "THAX"

Does anyone else think the use of the term "balla" is hugely wrong in this post?

That explains a lot. Good times. Hold off on your MySpace page for now, though.
