Villains hand looks like AQ or KQ to me. I dont think he checks a better hand on the river unless you've been acting like a maniac latetly. I think you should make a small bet on the river to try and get KQ to make a crying call. Like 20 ish.

I'm strongly inclined to check behind the turn for pot control. You weren't committed on the turn, but you bet anyways... building the pot and putting yourself to a point where your opponent can easily get AI, which you don't want because your hand has good showdown value and he is not a maniac. You might even be able to catch a bluff on the river.

On the river, I don't think we should take this one to valuetown. Try a blocking bet, but that's all I do... I check this behind most of the time.

this reeks of a typical set-spot.. "I can't see him checking the river with a hand that you beat"

just check behind

[/ QUOTE ]

Clearly he meant "with a hand that you don't beat".

Never mind

Why are you raising the flop? That's as dry a flop as you'll get, and you let lower pockets off the hook too easy or deny him a chance to double barrel. Plus, no better hand is folding, and you give him a chance to get away from a weaker Q on later streets.
Also, the fact that you're nearly 200BBs deep makes a stronger argument for calling flop.

I probably check, I don't see a ton of value in betting. I call the flop most of the time

Just calling pre-flop in this spot is fine as long as you float and/or raise the flop light sometimes.

Tks for the help. I really should just call that dry flop..

I checked behind and he had JJ, I think he would pay a small bet at river.
