Apartment Search: How To Rent w/out a \"Real\" Job
Has anyone had a recent experience renting an apartment in a major city who does not have a "real" job or proof of a "reliable" source of income?
Other than telling the landlord/management company that you are self-employed, I gather that they will want to see bank statements w/ sufficient reserves, possibly tax forms, etc., etc., etc. Anyone gone through this or familiar w/ what to expect? Thx (More non-poker than poker related, but if this is wrong place I'm sure you'll let me know. Thx) |

When I moved to LV I just told them I was playing poker. I had great credit so they didn't want to see anything.

Some places won't even consider you. Others will with a co-signer, like your parents. Some will rent to you but make you pay the first 6 months up front. Some might not care. The smaller the building/rental company the better.
