river raise is close IMO, but everyone pays off with a boat.

kd, are you folding to a raise? I'm not sure I think our hand is all that great that we're going to get a ton of value when we get called twice on turn + river. I think i'd rather just have one bet go in and show it down. we dont need any protection.

I think you may get a 9 to fold if you bet turn and river, which is why I agree with this, some smaller pairs are folding a lot to the turn bet, but may put at least one bet in on the river.

I think the river raise isn't terrible, calling wouldn't be bad, but folding here is a big mistake.

jba and true,

you might be right. Really depends. I just think most hands calling the flop are going to showdown, and there are more non A hands than A hands, and some of the A hands aren't extracting max value anyway.

Not checking mediocre, showdownable hands on the turn might be a leak of mine, though. So not betting definitely has merit.

Against an LP this can go either way, against a LAG a check is definitely best.

I usually just bet the turn here, but I like the check. I think it is good. I usually have even a little info even subconscious which helps me decide whether to bet or check.

He limp/called preflop and most of these players are typically bad, so I like to bet turn and bet river here. If he c/r turn I am definitely folding.

A player who limps UTG, calls a raise then c/c a pfr on AA-x flop is rarely c/ring the turn with a hand like 22.

Your river play doesn't make sense to me, the way the rest of the hanf played out.

As played Im calling the river.

turn check was to induce a river bet from any hand he may hold.

Turn: It's also good to prevent getting c/r'd and putting you to a hard decision. i.e. does he have an Ace, a better or worse King, or a Donkey played 9.

River: Since he may have been going for a c/r on the turn with an Ace or King, I'd just call the river bet.

I like the turn check + river raise. Bad fold.
