you're going to have to get used to the idea that there are reasonable arguments in the other direction

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, there are. The people who get called trolls aren't using them. Partly because the reasonable arguments start with admitted that taxation is obviously theft and that they simply believe that the ends justifies the means.

[/ QUOTE ]

So they have to agree with your position in order to argue against it without being labeled a troll? That's pretty [censored] up right there.

Ah, I see. So anyone who argues that taxation is not theft is making an unreasonable argument, and therefore is a troll? Completely crazy to argue that taxes are, say, analagous to a price you pay for the service of having government and the right to live and work in this country, kind of like rent. You wacky anarcho-capitalist kids, what'll you think of next.

Also, if I were a Politics mod, MidGe would be banned. He's a classic troll. In fact, he's pretty much the definition of a troll currently:

"An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who intentionally posts controversial or contrary messages in an on-line community such as an on-line discussion forum or group with the intention of baiting users into an argumentative response."

And I would fix broken quote tags.

Borodog for mod.

2+2 Politics for AC paradise.

Nielsio,
You do realize that, to my knowledge, Borodog has not spoken out in the least against your being banned, right? Just wanted to make sure.

Regards,

Yes, unless they're arguing that it's slavery. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Nope, didn't say that. I was simply pointing out where the reasonable arguments lie. I never said that everyone who makes unreasonable arguments is a troll.

You're taking money from people who don't want any part of your system by force. Whatever rationalization you use for why it's a good thing, it's theft. You might say "yeah, but this is *good* theft like Robin Hood," but it's still theft. *shrug* Not really an appropriate discussion for this forum/thread though.

Nielso,

Why can't midge be free?

Iron asked him not to start another thread yet he spite-started another one. This means he *wants* to get banned.

Comeon Iron, what do you say? Lemme back in? I promise I'll be good. No more flame-baiting. It's not good for my heart anyway.
