If Giuliani secures the presidential nomination, I would think he'd be wise to take someone from another area of the country as his running mate. Even with Romney on the ticket, the Dems will win Massachusetts. Kerry should have taken somebody who would have helped him in a close state.

Gephardt may have ended up helping alot more, but i dont remember how close Missouri was.

Funny thing is, exit polling showed Edwards would have been re-elected easily in NC, but he couldnt help Kerry out at all.

Running mates are so overrated. I think they contribute somewhat to the campaign atmosphere on a subconscious level in voters minds, but I'd imagine a voter's opinion of the VP very very rarely changes their vote. It'll be interesting to see the situation post-Cheney. The entertainment and news media has made the public aware that Cheney has tremendous influence, rather than being just another smiling statue who does little but wait for an assassination.

Well, now that we've all had a bit of time to think about Uncle Mitt, how do you feel now?

Apparently he holds the same zeal for hunting as John Kerry.
Even though the Mormons threw a lot of money at him I don't think he has much of a chance.

Here is a good story from Real Clear Politics about Mitts money situation and how it might take him no where.

Money Doesn't Necessarily Buy Victory

[ QUOTE ]
Those who believe that money controls politics will have a chance to test their theory with the presidential candidacy of Mitt Romney. They might want to remember what happened to John Connally and Howard Dean.
