C: Scissors are def the way to go.

mb: Not all of us are real men!

tuq: As bad as the potential self-stabbing are the jagged edges after I manage to get scissors down the side. I feel like I'm going to slice my finger open.

ST: I returned a sliced up package and manuals and an XBox controller to BestBuy a year ago and they didn't give me any hassles.

traz: I think a lathe would be better.

All: I ordered a Packageshark. I'll report results when I break another set of headphones.

They're annoying to open but you shouldn't be worrying about hurting yourself.

I like tearing them open like the Incredible Hulk.

I also like when pimply-faced teenage electronics store customer service reps try to give me [censored] for the packaging being destroyed when I need to return something. Maybe if you didn't encase it in this hard plastic shell, and put it in a box or something, then it wouldn't be here in long plastic shreds.

The hard plastic can cut you by itself once you cut it open, too, as I learned when I bought a 360 controller.

I'm going to drop James, better known as the angry nintendo nerd, a line and see if I can get him to do a rant on this. He did a good one recently about the lack of pens at the post office.

Edit: Actually he's got a similar one already. Those annoying DVD "security" tags

I hate this packaging, everytime I nearly injure myself because I'm too stubborn to get a pair of scissors.

Most of the times I've encountered this packaging I've used a key to open it since I'm lazy and impatient. I've hurt myself a few times too.
