Default *** Top Set w/AA ??? ***

give any and all feddback 2p2...

HAND #2:

$1/2 NL, 10 players live.
You are on the button. BB is a fairly new player to the game, no reads
on him, assume standard play. MP player is a rock, tight, but
somewhat passive.

MP [$575] calls $2
CO [$210] calls $2
Button [$520] (AsAc) raises to $20
BB [$170] calls $20
MP calls $20
CO folds

Pot = $63
Flop Ad 10c Jh

BB bets $25
MP calls $25
Button raises to $100
BB moves all-in for $150 total, $50 on top of your raise
MP moves all-in for $555 total, has you covered

Action is back on you, what's your play here?
a) Call all-in.
b) Fold.

You say MP is a rock, given preflop action, I don't see him having KQ here. Looks like he has 1010 JJ.

Since you don't know BB he could have KQ 2pair set.

I think this is a call due to stack sizes. Not sure though if it was BB who had the $500 Eff. stack. Would like to hear from others on this.

I'm in a hurry and did the math rather quickly, but right now I think the pot is around 865 and you have to call another 400 (what's left of your stack) to win a 1265 poit in the end, right? So I think with these odds I call here. Of course one of them could easily have KQ, but as it is live, they could have as well something like AJ and TT. So the chance of you being in front right now combined with the chance of you improving by boating up makes this a call IMO.

Why would the rock want to push you out of the hand if he has kq?? Thats the only hand your behind, and I am not laying down yout hand. If Im behind, i Can still improve.

there's plenty of money in there for the rock to shove and take down the pot...he doesn't want to let someone see the board pair

^Terrible^. Stop slowplaying.

Take the role of MP in this hand. If the Button has AA, JJ, or TT he has to call a shove given the pot odds. If he chooses to fold, that's great for us, we profit by him folding (because he's making a mistake). If we cold call, you realize we're allowing him to call $50 to win a $500 pot. There's almost no hand that isn't correct to take those odds. But much more importantly, BTN is clearly strong raising this flop. If we cold-call, he's not allowed to raise (because BB's raise does not constitute a full raise), so we have to see a turn. So suppose we cold-call BB's shove and BTN calls. Now the turn comes K. Oops, now what? We can't stack BTN's TT or AJ anymore. So what's your plan as MP? Cold-call and let a scare card-fall? Min-raise which is so clearly WAY stronger than a shove? All other options are trash. Shove.

Note: Calling the first $25 and then cold-calling $125 more with no flush draw on board looks VERY strong. All hands that go broke to that line also go broke to a shove.

I would most definitely call this.
Of course he could have KQ, but you are solidly ahead of his range here IMO, and you are getting decent odds.
