I am clueless how SB calls w/ K high no draw for 1/3 of his stack when he's this short. Do I just give up this hand? I feel like when I move in it's hard for either player to call unless they've connected, so I took my chances. Neither player connected but I guess he felt lucky (?) or was threatened by my avatar

I've seen this sort of call before and it beats me too. I have a theory though. The caller recognises that it's a dry flop, and puts you on a bluff. To make it, you could have just about anything. So he figures, well, [censored] it, it's like a preflop shove by a random hand, I can call that.

And it was sooooted.

Don't random bluff and then complain. Obviously I don't call k8d there, but it's a 2.20, hes got 3 diamonds, he tells himself this guys full of it I'm not backing down. He then says all people who fold are chickens. He then calls, fist pumps, brags to his friends, plays a $50 MTT, loses it all, and cries.

That said, I don't really like the bluff. Pushing preflop is fine though, you are definitely in fine shape agaisnt button and SBs ranges, and have enough (although not a lot with button on that stack) FE.

I agree with pushing PF, this is kinda like a sng, except you weren't first to act and there's 2 people, which I don't really like because you're just getting called too much. However, aside from shoving PF, I like this play better than anything else you could do. I mean, you have 4 BBs left in your stack and should have (lol but you didn't) some decent FE on this shove.

I wouldn't call this a random bluff; I didn't just stick my chips in and yell FOLD. I was also looking to see if I missed something, as well as some advice as to how else I could have played it. imo it had similar dynamics to a stop n go, except I didn't call a PF raise. I was just going to give up on the hand until the SB checked. I realized I still had enough chips left to shove and have some major FE. It would be difficult for the button to call without a jack, especially with the SB still to act, and it would be difficult for the SB to call without hitting a piece of the board, especially given that he's crippled if he has a worse hand or gets drawn out on.

I hope k8 sooted got his aces cracked by a guy who went all in blind on the bubble of his $50 MTT and went on life tilt
