Re: AQo preflop from BB
Depends on read. In general I don't think calling is ever good.

Re: AQo preflop from BB
$115. Bet $150 on most flops if called. Reads are nice, as nc pointed out, but I think this is my line against unknown.

Re: AQo preflop from BB
Calling sucks. If villain is LAGish and has a high Attempt to steal then I def raise here. Against a nit I, as stated, rather fold here then call. AQos OOP is a pain in the ...

Re: AQo preflop from BB
Reraise to at least $100 if CO is either stealing or raising light. Fold if he's not. If CO is "CO is weakish passive" then I think folding is probably best since you'll be OOP against what is probably more of a value raise with a good hand rather than a blind steal attempt.
If you have no read, then fold until you figure out if he's an LP light-raiser. There is generally less blind-stealing live than on-line, so unless you pick up on a pattern of CO and BTN raises, then he probably has something that will make playing AQo without initiative problematic post-flop. The only time I'll call is if it's heads up, he raises from HJ/CO much too much when folded to him, and he is an aggressive but straight forward player who is unlikely to call if I donk bet the flop so much as raise (if he hits) or fold (if he misses). But my plan in that case is to call the raise and donk bet any flop at all. My hand at that point only matters if my donk bet gets called or raised. Many times an occasional stop & go will slow down a blind stealer at less of a risk to your stack than reraising and cb'ing into a much bigger pot if he calls the reraise pf. |
