What are the key elements that lead to better decision-making in poker
Title says it all. I know it's about as general as it gets--but poker is all about decisions. So what key elements lead to better overall decision making? I'm particularly interested in what people have to say about being in control of hands since that would lead to easier decisions which should lead to more correct ones.

Don't act too fast. A lot of people make quick decisions that upon closer reflection would reveal themselves to be poor.

Ill ask it more specifically, as im interested as well:
What does the thought process look like that leads to the most correct decisions? If you could come up with a list of default questions which you would ask yourself before each decision, what would they be?

Ok, I don’t know if this helps because it is very general but the main thoughts or considerations that go through my mind are in this order:
1. Position 2. Position 3. Position 4. Who has entered the pot 5. What bets have been made 6. Who is left to act 7. What are the chip stacks 8. What is my reading so far of all the players 9. What cards do I have 10. Now what I am trying to achieve (call, raise, fold?) And yes, I know I put position there 3 times.

This is so ridiculous. I don't even know what game you're playing: Cash games at w/e level, MTT'S, STT'S, w/e. Send me a pm...let me know what game you're playing...then I'll take a crack at it....although any more info than that you could give me can only help.
Though getting it in with with more equity than your opponent has is so ridic rarely wrong....of course I'm not so sure you really cmpletely understand what that means.

If not considering the ABC's and the analytical study of how to play in all the different situations vs. different type of opponents, it's all about adjusting to opponents.

[/ QUOTE ] Lol I play higher than you do--trust me. I sometimes like to simplify things for myself and refresh my thinking. Go play 25/50+ on Stars and take your crack ; ) MyPTBB summed up my thinking a bit better I think.
