i certainly think a flop check behind is fine/standard also, but i dont expect to get c/r so much that betting is not profitable here.

Are you expecting him to call with many hands? Given that this flop misses so much of your range, do you not think he might raise with air more than he would on a less dry board?

Full Tilt Poker $100+9 No-Limit Hold'em Tourney
Big Blind is t100 (8 handed)

UTG (t1350)
UTG+1 (t2450)
MP1 (t1295)
MP2 (t2560)
Hero (t1650)
Button (t1520)
SB (t1400)
BB (t1275)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
<font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises to t300</font>, <font color="#666666">Button folds</font>, SB calls t250, <font color="#666666">BB folds</font>.

Flop: <font color="blue">(t700)</font> K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB checks, <font color="red">Hero bets t300</font>, <font color="red">SB raises to t800</font>, <font color="#666666">Hero folds</font>.

I have no specific reads on SB other than he isn't completely terrible. His play has seemed slightly loose-passive, maybe 25/5 up to this point. Where did this go wrong?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'd usually check the flop.

David,

This hand is based on Hand 2-4 in Collin's book, although it is not exactly the same. I don't really like the flop bet. It turns a decent hand into air.
