His play had nothing to do with the cards he held and had everything to do with his read of the table, IMO.

and yes, what a douchebag comment afterward.

There's quite a bit of that on this site.

You say that woman made the correct fold after you pushed. I've seen the play you've made a few times, and I can't help but wonder, if, in this situation, a call would be correct. What range of hands are you pushing, and more importantly, with what frequency?

Why not just fold the first time around?

I was thinking the same thing. Poker players aren't a realy intimidating bunch on the whole.

just because he wants to hear something personally doesn't mean he's challenging you to a fight. Maybe he just wanted to clear it up and discuss it instead of being gossiped about on a message board.

as usual you guys are quick to judge and also very very quick to share mis-information. Here is what really happend and how i reacted...
guy loses like 800 or something in a previous pot... lady (good looking btw! gotta add all the CORRECT details) limps in utg+1 then i limp in 2 to her left, folds around to guy that just lost a monster pot he pushes for 103 total...couple folds round to guy in the sb who has about a 900 stack and just flat calls the 103 (weak player and obv a very weak hand) bb folds and the lady who has me covered with about 1500 stack says "I knew he was going to do that!" and then just calls the 93$ more...and its back to me...there is currently $324 in the pot and it's to call 93....obv i cannot call the $93 with 84cc because now i will be in a dry side pot situation where i cant bluff out the other two players with live hands.and i have a POS hand.and i dont call 10% of my stack preflop with these kind of hands knowing that i will have to make the best hand in order to win more money off the other players...so instead i use the knowledge that i have on the first caller (weak passive) mixed with the comment used by the lady (that she has a marginal hand and that she called b/c she felt the guy was pushing no matter what after his beat on the prev hand...BTW although she did make a big mistake by not making the reraise herself and isolating against the allin player, she did make the correct fold after i pushed!) and i shove my 1k stack in there...to the guy that made the "if he had Ax it woulda been better then 84s" comment..keep grindin out those $10 sngs bud you'll be OK! I would never make that play with ace rag...so anyway i kind of lost my train of thought about all the various reasons why i made the play and i could talk for days about why i did it (implied odds of future table image being a big one...and the fact that i was playing 5-10 with a friend at a local casino for fun and entertainment not b/c i AM BUSTO!!) ok im babbling again...so anyway i go for a smoke and as i am sitting back down at the table the guy in between my self and the lady is racking up his chips and doing one of those VERY loud whispers where anyone can hear what he is saying..."That was the worst played hand i have ever seen! u fold JJ and fischman pushes 1k in, what a horrible play!!" to which i kindly reply "not to be rude but if you cant figure out why i made that play its real sad!" now ok i"ll be honest, obv i should not have said anything but come on!! the play was great, not to mention i sucked out and won it and now the guy is racking his chips up leaving the game and calling me the idiot. if he thinks im that bad why would he leave a game where i am pushing 1k in for no reason??? afater the guy leaves the lady and myself have a bit of a laugh as i tell her why i made the play (she understood it and said WP) and she was happy that she folded b/c io made a flush. she did know that she screwed up and also thought it a bit amusing that the guy leaving the game didnt understand the play.

PS....next time when you are gonna talk sh it, spell my name right...not to mention SAY IT TO MY FACE....god this is a perfect example of why i HATE this site...you fckin guys dont have to balls to confront me in person...jesus!

Fold pre-flop.

Also, flat-calling a 10x BB raise preflop, usually does not imply a weak hand unless the player is extremelly weak, in which case you shouldn't be counting on him to fold for 800 more when the pot will be about 425 when it gets back to him.

If you were there to have fun then well played but I think you are making one too many assumptions for this to be +EV.

Good call scott, especially since the OP has 13 posts. He definitely represents 2+2. Not surprised to see you lurking either. And I think the play is a little too tourney but +EV none theless.

Here's a tip: when you go about 5'8" and 150 lbs., challenging legions to confront you in person is -EV.
