I could also stay at any Harrah's property at the "WSOP Entrant" rate. That range from

-$90/$170 (or something, weekday/weekend) at Bally's, Harrah's, and Flamingo
-$100/$190 at Paris
-$110/$200 at Rio
-$140/$230 at Caesar's.

whooaaaa... I had heard rumors of this, but could never find anything to substantiate it.

And I still can't find it on harrah's website. Linky??

On the other hand, that rate for Bally's etc looks about the same as normal. But $110/$200 for Rio looks really tempting...

No linky at hand, but I can tell you for sure it's in the FAQ PDF, which should be enough to get you right to it once you get to the WSOP site.

I checked around and finally decided a room is a room. I made reservations at Harrahs from 7/16/thru 7/20. Sunday & Wed are $70. Mon & Tu are $80.

W.Der, when in Vegas I usually stay at the Flamingo. It's value. It's nice enough, clean, reasonable and centrally located. All the rooms have been updated. Once you get some rated play there they'll keep sending you deals. I would think about it and play some craps there a couple of times and you should be good to go in the future. 2 cents. Good luck!

If you get to know some of the floorpeople at Bellagio they are pretty lax about the your hours necessary to get the poker rate. PBob gets treated like royalty there so I think your good breeding will get you treated likewise.

I concur. My last trip I booked two rooms, and barely even played at the Bellagio yet I still got the casino rate (which is the same as the Poker Room rate). I was pre-rated, I'll never have to fill out a silly little card again to track my play at the Bellagio.
