Default $10/180 JJ flops an overpair and check/folds

MP2 is 40/30 but only over 20 hands and I've seen him showdown 2 solid well-played hands. The small preflop re-raise of my EP raise really smelled fishy (edit: by that I mean felt like a big pair that wanted some action) but I couldn't pass up 3.3-to-1.

Two well played hands out of the eight that he has already played?

I think I shove this

Well he only showed 2 hands down and both of those were played in a manner that suggested he wasn't a donk. This of course conflicted with the fact that he had played so many hands in the time I was at the table but 20 hands of data isn't really much to rely on.

I would of fired the bet of around 800 first just to see what MP2 would do. If MP2 shoved I would make my decision there as to whether I think I am beat. I would get all my chips in here with this hand. You can't always be worried your opponent has the better of you or the nuts.

I can't really make a meaningful lead then get away from the hand. If I had another 1500 to 2000 chips I would have bet right out at the flop.

I would guess 95% or more of the time my chips would have went in here. I'm not sure what I'm after by posting this hand, other than I felt really weak laying this down even though I was fairly certain I was behind.

I dont mind the fold here but i have to ask y did u call preflop. Presumably, u called to see a flop with no overcards yet then u fold when this flop comes. I think u played it slighly timidly for that reason. If u think he has u beat pre flop then fold. Instead, u called, didnt know where u were and folded 2 a very good flop for your hand. My advice would be try and define ur hand preflop because u clearly didnt know where u were postflop.

I thought very hard about just folding preflop but it's very difficult to fold JJ preflop getting 3.3-to-1 pot odds.

I called hoping to flop a set with the intention of proceeding very carefully if I flopped an overpair.

I can't afford to define my hand preflop.

Goonercam

We are obviously calling preflop for set value here.
