[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] wow, talk about an awesome sample size [ QUOTE ] Yay. My 1st post to the forums. This can be determined by each person. It's simple... Take a deck of cards and take out AA. Deal out 6 random hands. Do this 10 times and see the result. My result was the AA's held up 4 times. I got busted 6 times. Those odds suck. I'd lay down the AA against 6 others all-in pre-flop. [/ QUOTE ] LOL [/ QUOTE ] ommmmmmmmmmmg world class level [/ QUOTE ]ROFLMAO |

<--jmill in that thread
Amazing thread just because the guy really believes what he's saying. I also love this [ QUOTE ] So I raised to about 3 times the bb and the chip leader called on the bb. The flop came QJ5, and he went all in. 1st time he had made this play all tourney, so I knew he had nothing... maybe the jack, but definitely not the 5 or q... I knew I was ahead, but with 3rd paying 800 and 2nd paying 1300 and 1st paying 2000, I figured I could wait for a better spot, especially since the guy in 2nd stunk [/ QUOTE ] [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] players like fabbs |

Re: CardPlayer forum thread... Pure Gold
There's also this..
[ QUOTE ] Well if you knew he was on the nut flush draw he has 9 outs to make his hand and is 36% to win it. That means you are 64% to win it, if you have to invest more then 64% of this pot then yes you might lay it down because your pot odds are not actually good enough to call for you to profit off of this play every time. However, I'm probably going to make this call 99% of the time. He got lucky thats p0ker [/ QUOTE ] Id love to know how that's even possible... |

Re: CardPlayer forum thread... Pure Gold
[ QUOTE ]
However, the thing that people always forget about tournament poker is that it is different than cash games in that sometimes the right call in terms of pot odds is the wrong call in terms of tourney poker. Juanda and Fischman say this all the time. For example, let's say you call. 6 out of 10 times, you're out of the world series on the 1st hand. The other 4 times, you have a massive chip lead, and let's say you turn two of those chip leads into cashses, maybe 3... if you just fold there, and you're a good player, you should be able to cash in the event 4 times.
