Default SOSA in ring games

Okay, so the other day I was playing at a local room and it came down to HU at the river. One player pushed and the other folded after long consideration. The player that pushed showed his cards to the folder and another player invoked Show One Show All and the pusher refused, claiming this was not valid in ring games, only tourneys. Is this true?
