If you have a large selection of music, and a large selection of movies, sooner or later you will find XYZ song/album matching up perfectly with XYZ movie. The probability of it happening is both extremely unlikely and certain - depending whether you set out to prove links like these, or to disprove them.

Plus there is the classic psychology which all poker players experience where in a series of random events the human mind will find patterns where there are none. Its just human nature.

Also, see 1000 monkeys and 1000 typewriters writing shakespeare.

Nothing more than hokey [censored]. Works for the same reason that people think psychics and mind readers work. Not coincidentally, most people that believe in DSOTM/OZ also believe in ESP and other such tripe.

My favorite music for doing this was the Talking Heads' Speaking in Tongues combined with Bugs Bunny cartoons. I think the combo held the secret of life or something.

Btw, I made a very short film once, and afterward some people said it went really well with a song I picked to go with it, but that made it feel almost like a music video. Truth is, the entire movie was cut before I picked the song.

the Dark Side / Wizard of Oz thing is the firmest evidence I have seen in proof of a higher power or collective unconscious / one consciousness

Old news. This is one of the best parts though.

Dark Side Of The Rainbow - Great Gig In The Sky

This one is pretty awesome too;

2001 - One Of These Days

They should just use that for the music for that section of the movie it syncs up so well.

i heard on the radio 106.9 in hartford ct, that Floyd wanted to have The Wizard of Oz playing in the back ground during a live concert. But the could never maike a deal with the W o Oz creaters or owners.
