Better day to travel?
I'm going to be driving from PA to VT on either July 3rd or July 4th. Its a tue/weds.
Given that its not falling on a what would be a long weekend I'm not sure that it matters but which day do you think I'd encounter less traffic? The problem are is specifically the NY state throughway. Any input appriciated. Thanks, Evan |

Re: Better day to travel?
I have good news and bad news.
First the bad news. July 4th is the deadliest day for traffic accidents. The good news. July 3rd is the second deadliest day for traffic accidents. I guess that's not real good news. |

Re: Better day to travel?
Since it's not a weekend holiday, I'd probably most people traveling will be on the roads after work Tuesday so they can spend the whole day Wednesday whereever it is they are going. So if you have freedom, go on Wed.

Re: Better day to travel?
I imagine u are most worried about the Scranton to Albany stretch of the trip. Since its 8 hours, I would leave at like 6-7am from Pennsylvania to get into VT around 5ish (with stops etc.)

Re: Better day to travel?
Tuesday early morning. If you wait after 12, you're screwed. Wednesday at any time before 8 will be crazy too.
