JK- put your spoilers in white plz!

How Green Was My Valley is a John Ford film from 1940 about a Welsh mining town. It's one of my favorite films and one of the saddest ever. It is famous for beating out Citizen Kane for Best Picture, Best Director, and Cinematography.

Breaking the Waves is another heartbreaker.

I don't even think I cried after seeing GOTF. I think I just felt really terrible inside. Almost broken, kind of. I couldn't stop thinking about the movie for the next 2 days or so.

[/ QUOTE ]

I've seen sooo many movies, but very few, even of the ones I like best, make my feelings come back vividly to where they when watching the movie like GOTF does. GOTF can still hit me hard any time I let myself think much about it.

Once Upon a Time in America is a great mafia film which is also quite sad and moving as you watch De Niro relive a life of regret.

QFMFT!!

The movie tricks you too. Its advertised as some slapstick Adam Sandler comedy and then it turns into one of the most depressing movies you can watch. The worst part is that whenever you mention it to anybody who hasnt seen it, they look at you like you are an idiot.

Once they watch it though, they agree.

Yes.

McCabe and Mrs. Miller is also quite sad. There's a lot of loneliness and acceptance of fate being perverse, violent, or both. Even attempting to be a human being in this film seems like the wrong choice.

Also, as for non-movies, I definitely cried during last nights "My Wish" segment on Sportscenter, and I hate the Red Sox.
