Could a fan right behind home plate yell out location before the pitch to help his team?

No, for two reasons:
#1: It would distract the hitter, negating the advantage of knowing location. #2: Between the teams and the umpire, someone would have security escort you out by the 2nd inning. |

A lot of players peek anyway. In Moneyball, someone notes on game film that A-Rod is, for example.
