Default Could this work (silly baseball ?)

Could a fan right behind home plate yell out location before the pitch to help his team?

No, for two reasons:

#1: It would distract the hitter, negating the advantage of knowing location.

#2: Between the teams and the umpire, someone would have security escort you out by the 2nd inning.

Does it distract hitters when the base runner on 2nd gives location. Also, the fans could use code words.

It would be hard to hear, and anyway, there wouldn't be enough time as the pitch would be in the air when the fan yelled it out. If you watch catchers they tend to setup at the last second.

A lot of players peek anyway. In Moneyball, someone notes on game film that A-Rod is, for example.
