I don't think the odds of dying are that high. You people take things very literally, even for poker players. I do see two different scenarios under which GtrHtr gets offered a plum job, and only one of them makes it a good idea to take it.

1) He's one of a small number people in the world with the combination of skills, training, and experience to fill the position effectively. Since demand (1 unit) out-paces supply (currently 0 units), whoever is offering the job is willing to pay a lot of money for these premium skills.

2) The last five guys got killed --> probably not a good idea.

I'll be thinking this over. I don't know if I'd be able to play poker. I saw on CR's that a soldier got his own internet and was able to play...funny how much that is likely to play into my decision.

fwiw Slim, you could get a job in Iraq making 300k for a year pretty easily but you'd be in more danger than I would in the job I'm thinking about, i.e. yours would likely involve travel.

I was just about to reply to one saying "read the FAQ, get an ICM calculator, blah blah." But then I though why on Earth would I do that? All it does is turn a donk into someone with a clue whats going on while not helping my game at all. I come here to improve my game and for the banter, not to make the games I play in tougher. Or is this against the 2+2 ethic? Im not saying you shouldn't help weaker players but if it gives you no benefit at all it seems kind of retarded. What do y'all think?

This is completely against what 2p2 is about.

When I first started playing, better players helped me. Who am I to know take that information and run? I feel it is the responsibility of anyone that gained from this board to pass that along to the newer posters.
