Im sure he thought you were trying to steal preflop. I would shove, you are only losing to AK and AA. I wouldnt want to call here and see a dirty turn card.

He also loses against KK, TT and xx, all cards that would warrant the betting pattern so far. I'd call and see if he bets again after the turn. If not push, if he does I'd tend to fold.

A random is not betting a set here.

I shove flop every time and am happy to get it in.

Man, I wish my KQo would hold up against KK/QQ/AQ the way it sounds like yours do.

BTW, is flat-calling improved/worsened if we plan to shove over a c-bet with a certain frequency when we completely whiff on a raggedy low flop?

I think if he's the type of player that you can flat-call here he's usually also the type of player you can shove over whiffed flops profitably.

Yeah, I bring it up because I actually think you NEED to do that occasionally in order to make flat-calling profitable here.

Exactly that. Or cr turn ai when flop is checked through. Or bet the draw/overcards and puke call when he shoves.

I'm not convinced that calling is a losing move here but that's a site thing.

Anyway, I called because I figured I was ahead most of the time. The board was safe and I think he instaraise/instabet routine is very weak on this flop.

That said, it's difficult to see how I then extract any more chips from his pf range of pairs and big aces so I think pushing is the move on this flop.

I called. Flop is a rag putting up two hearts and I have K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I have less than PSB left and he checks to me. We clearly shove here?
