109$. Calling range against likely resteal
Stars 109$. First hand in a new table, so no reads. Blinds 200/400 with 50 ante.
CO Hero, 7k Button, 9k SB, 10k+ BB, Sitting out Hero opens for 1200 from CO, Button insta shoves, SB folds. What is our calling range here? Naturally Hero's raise looks like an attempt to pick up the blinds since BB is sitting out and buttons shove looks like a resteal due to the stack sizes. |

Re: 109$. Calling range against likely resteal
Its not a guaranteed resteal, Button may not have noticed BB is sitting out, Button is always welcome to be dealt a hand, and button has 22big blinds or so. I personally would see this as a pretty straightforward pot odds problem. I would assign button a range of something like top 8% hands, and looking at ~2200 in overlay, im looking like I call with 77+ ATs+ AJo+, depending on how loose I am stealing here, this might be about a third of the hands I am raising to steal with, and that means that a resteal shove is a ~bad wager from the button

Re: 109$. Calling range against likely resteal
I'd call AQ+ and 99+ without doing any calculations. Too lazy to do them right now.

Re: 109$. Calling range against likely resteal
88+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,AJo+,Kqo is a conservative reraisers range
so gobbos 99+ aq+ looks good if your playing safe however the reraiser is probably doing this looser, so i think i'd probably call 88+ aj+. |
