Default Bluffing at 1/2-6max

Just joined the table so no reads. Never bluff without reads. However I played at 1/2 to practice my river bluffing/value betting. So:

Hand 1

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (4 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG posts a blind of $1.
UTG (poster) checks, 1 fold, SB raises, Hero calls, UTG folds.

Flop: (5 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, SB calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

River: (6.50 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets

Final Pot: 7.50 BB

Hand 2
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. MP posts a blind of $1.
1 fold, MP (poster) checks, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls, MP calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, MP checks, Hero bets, BB folds, MP calls.

Turn: (4.25 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP checks, Hero checks.

River: (4.25 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets

Final Pot: 5.25 BB

Either hand, its either betting or just handing him chips. The way you played both hands, you need to bet the rivers. I think you should list the 10 times this same line doesn't work as well.

Never bluff without reads.

I like hand one a lot more than hand two. There's a lot of draws for him to be on and he's not usually going to look you up with unimproved overs.

Hand two, I think Ace-high and sometimes King-high is looking you up here. Folding Q-high and K-high isn't worth it in such a small pot.

Hand 1:

I don't like it. He can EASILY convince himself you are on a missed draw. I find you get called by ace high here a lot. Also a pissive player may slow down with a big pair here.

The 2nd hand I dont mind.

Hand two: I muck this hand preflop. Especially if the posters are loose. Can someone make a comment on this? Am I to thight in this spot?

hand 1: I like the flop raise only if we're takling the freebie on the turn. Being that you bet the turn, I like the river bet. Although you'll get called/raised most the time, but you should take this down 1 out of 7.5 times at least.

Hand 2: I've never been to fond of the semi-bluff/check/bluff line. It looks to odd to the already passive calling stations and makes it more likely they'll call. Mike Caro calls it a calling reflex. either go with semi-bluff/semi-bluff UI/bluff UI or semi-bluff/check UI/check UI with the latter usually being more profitable.

Hand 1: There's too much on this board for me to continue this bluff, especially with no reads on the opponent. I may raise flop, and check behind on turn for a free card.

Hand 2: I wouldn't play this hand. But the way it was played, I'd say this river bet has some value to it, however I'm not sure if it's enough. It could definitely make him fold a winner. I'd probably bet the river for kicks.

Hand 1 seems ok. I think he'll fold a better hand more often than 1 in 6 times here. But I'd be happier if it were an unknown at 1/2 prima or empire.

Hand 2 I really don't like. First, I fold preflop.
After checking behind the turn he's rarely going to buy that you have an actual hand on the riv, and the double-board pairing card gives him a great reason to call with a-high.
