Default 2/4 hand

Just wondering about my turn play here; do I check with the intention of raising, then fold when it goes bet-raise? Or is my bet-fold to two more line fine?

Also, sorry about the ugly conversion; I'm not sure what the problem is..

On the "format" pulldown menu on the converter page, you have to select "2+2 forums".

As far as the hand goes, I like the line you went with. Without reads, bet/call if MP1 raises and CO folds or coldcalls, bet/fold when the action goes the way it did...this is pretty much always going to be a flopped monster for CO, and there's no saying that MP1 doesn't have AK/AT/a set anyway.

I don't as much like checking with the intention of raising after a bet and call, because:

A) As mentioned above, you're still behind & drawing very slim to a decent chunk of MP1's raising range.

2) This would be a disaster if MP1 decides to check his QQ/JJ and CO takes a free card with his flush draw/gutshot/whatever.

C) You put yourself in a difficult position when you do execute the check/raise and MP1 then 3bets you. That probably means that you're beat, but you can't rule out AQ/AJ/some donk overplaying any ace/AX [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] when he 3bets.

4) If CO is drawing, bet/call will often face him with two bets cold, while check/raising often lets him call one bet twice (which he's very apt to do with all kinds of hands that could outdraw you on the river, such as Ax with a higher kicker, or a pair+gutshot hand).

If this was heads up with Mp1 on the flop I would continue but with the CO coldcalling preflop and the bet/call on the flop plus the extremely drawy board this flop seems like a good spot to get rid of A little.
