Default How often does this happen?

3/6 limit at Bay 101. Inconsequentially, I have AA in the BB and raised preflop and bet the flop and turn. Naturally, there are still six in at the river. The final board is TJxxQ. Check, check, check, check, check, check. SB shows JT for two pair, I muck, muck, muck, muck, and button flips over AK for the nuts! THE BUTTON CHECKED THE NUTS ON THE RIVER!

Was he planning to check-raise the dealer? I don't play B&M that much, but my friends tell me that this isn't that rare. They've even seen people muck the nuts. How often do you see this and what other dumb blunders have you seen?

If $3-6 is the smallest game there you will see it quite often. At this level some people do not really know how to play, some people don't know what their hands are worth. Other people are just there to have fun and could care less about the $$, they want the social part of the game.

The best of the bunch are calling stations in training, they are practicing on how to call correctly - for when they get in bigger games.

On the bright side, when they play their nut hand like that it doesn't cost you as much as it should....

I see this quite a bit, not as much now as I have moved up a few limits. Remembering back when I played $3/6 I saw this all the time. Noobies get nervous sometimes I think and just forget to bet.

I watched a guy muck JJ on 89TQ2 board one time when I raised with QJ. Now It wouldn't have been so bad he was scared of a bigger straight but he mumbles Qs are good as he mucks.

My favorite was when the guy with the headphones, glasses and cool card protector 3-bets river then folds to cap with JJ and says nice catch. board reads Js 3h 5s 5c 9s. Capper shows K high flush.

there was a retarded russian dude playing 5/10nl in my first ever 5/10nl live session in ac. he called down his oesd, then checked behind his rivered straight (not the nuts but that is irrelevant he clearly had the best hand). i had the golden seat, he turned to me and said that "he knew nobody was calling". I agreed with him, no way the donk with trips top kicker would have called a value bet

At my local casino there's a regular who, if he likes you, will tell you what he has when you bet into him to save you money.

Nothing better than playing AA and having your opponent tell you "I flopped a set, save your money." He always shows too.

Some people really just want to socialise and use poker as a means to that end.

I once saw a lady call on the end in a hand of stud, when she couldn't beat her opponent's upcards. She just wanted to see what he had.

I saw a kid close the action by calling with a Royal once. When asked why he didn't raise, he said the board was paired, he wasn't sure if his flush was any good.

And my favorite is the story (myth?) from the old 5-draw barns in Gardena. Two players after the draw. A bets, B calls, and shows a Royal.

A: Why didn't you raise me?
B: Eh, you give action, you'll get action.

I've saw this happen more than once while on my last trip to Vegas. I was playing 3/6 at the Nugget and this group of guys from "way North Dakota" were sitting togehter at one end of the table. After about an hour or so of drinking their refreshments, they were getting kind of loud. "Don'cha no?"

So I'm on the button and I'm dealt Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Two early callers and one of the Dakota's raises me up as he's saying "Let's gooo 3 dawluhs moooore don'cha no", button folds, SB folds, I raise again, fold around to Dakota who stammers for a sec then caps with "anuthuh 3 dawluhs moore eh?". I call.

Flop comes Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and X. Dakota "I'm gunnah check my trippy trip trips". The alcohol had finally caught up to him so I slowly check behind with a huge smile on my face.

Turn was another dud. Dakota "Checkin' it!". This time I bet $6 and he looks at his cards and raises me again "Put anothuh 6 dawluhs eh?". I slowly call again.

Flop was a final dud. Dakota puts in another $6 and annouces "I wouldn't bet yooor money, I have a set of jacks don'cha no?"

I manage to get a cap with him mumbling Dakota speak the whole time, the table was in hysterics as I tabled my set of Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and said "I have a set Queens "Don'cha no?"
