The friend gets his 5k back from the robber and they split your 9k. Perfect cover as you think your "friend" lost his 5k so he "can't be in on it". The guy was there ready to go when you pulled in. I'd be very suspicious..

i'm kinda close w. this "friend" and yes I also has thoughts that he was in on it but obv he is playing it like anyone would in his spot regardless of whether or not he was involved. we spoke individually with the police at the station who asked us both if we think the other is capable of doing this to each other. I said I think anyone is capable of anything and he said that there is no way I would do this because of the fact that I already have enough money that risking serious reprecutions over his $5k + jewlery + cell phone isn't even close to worth it.
