chip reese's section in SS1 is well worth a read, there is 'How to Beat Low Limit 7 Card Stud Poker' by Kammen and '7-card Stud: The Complete Course in Winning at Medium and Lower Limits' by Roy West but i haven't read or heard anything about them. apart from that there is a section in 'play like the pros' by phil hellmuth. but the best thing to do is read 7CS4AP as many times as possible.

This is correct. Chip's stud section in the original S/S is excellent. I do not recommend the books by West and Kammen. I read the first half of the Adams book a few years ago and can't recommend that either. Othmer is unreadable. I can't remember if I read the stud section in the Hellmuth book. If it's as good as his advice on limit hold'em, keep moving.

If only someone would write the stud equivalent to Small Stakes Hold'em....

I thought the Adams book was very good.
