Re: The Theory of Poker
[ QUOTE ]
My argument is that poker parallels a spiritual journey much more closely than an atheistic one. [/ QUOTE ] Words divide, that I know. regardless of what you "believe", in the long run you are either your own worst enemy, or your own best friend. This I think we can all agree. We all ultimately get what we want out of poker and life. Set your mind to anything and it can be accomplished. I don't care if you believe in aliens, the koran, atheism, the bible, etc...Every game is a battle of truths. Any belief accepted that hasn't been experienced personally is likely NOT the truth. When you reach the point of "know" through experiences, belief no longer exists, there is only known, and unknown. Beliefs divide us from knowing the truth of a matter. It then becomes "us against them", "we are saved and your not" and that is an illusion not truth. |

Re: The Theory of Poker
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Actually, I rather see the development of the winning poker player as being more akin to the development of a budding young porn star. First you see her, very shy and innocent, and bright eyed, doing solo work. After a few months, and a more battle-hardened body, she appears in some hardcore porn. After a few years she's ventured into the realms of DP, ATM, as well as a variety of other techniques in her slutty little toolbelt. Some people in the poker world have even taken this analogy quite far; I politely re-raise you: Brandi Hawbaker http://www.bankrollboost.com/brandi-hawbaker.php [/ QUOTE ] I assume this wasnt intended to make any sense, and was just an excuse for the link, for which I thank you. A nice diversion for a moments. [/ QUOTE ] This should make total sense if you compare it with the reasoning of splendour; and yw as far the link. |
