FTP 5/10: Cold 4bet With QQ
This is FTP 5/10NL. I have been playing 17/15, changing gears with my opening and 3betting ranges as the session has progressed. I am at a few tables with villain (big blind), and we have been 3betting and playing back at each other quite a bit. He is "Mano Nera" and his stats are 28/23.
The UTG raiser is 30/10, but I have only 20 hands on him. Normally I think the range of big blind is very small here, AA and KK, given that UTG raiser seems pretty passive and I am pretty tight. However, because of his stats, I think we can also include AK. Do you agree with this? That being said, what is your play? I think folding, calling, and shoving should all be up for discussion. If I call I "think" I have to get it in on any non ace or king flop, but fold if one of those cards comes. Agree? Thoughts are appreciated. Thanks! I think calling is pretty much straight up bad here. I think for you, playing 17/15, you shouldn't be felting here, but it owuld be closer if you were playing a bit looser.

Yeah - I hate calling, it just makes no sense unless we can get a ton of information based on his flop play, which i doubt we can.
i'd pitch it, this is aa/kk too often. |

Re: FTP 5/10: Cold 4bet With QQ
FWIW, I don't think I'm viewed by Mano Nera as a standard 17/15 player, considering that he's been sitting with me for a while and seen me raise/3bet excessively at times.
If we are sure that a fold is better than a call or a push, is a push really better than a call? If I call, I think I'm saving myself money when an A or K flops, and getting him to bluff the rest of his chips with much lower equity when an A or K doesn't flop (the times he has AK of course). Thoughts? |
