Re: Getting Started Online
Okay, thanks for all the good advice so far. I'm going to reload today, probably just $100.00. I'm going to start lower and play at the .05/.10 tables and see how I far. Maybe I'll post how I do/how long I played on this thread. Again, thanks for all the advice.

81.5% of the time you win that one. This was just the 18.5% part.

Re: Getting Started Online
No, I won. K high flush on river. But he also hit his straight on the river. I was just wondering if I should expect these kinds of plays at the .05/.10 level.

Re: Getting Started Online
i understand it can be frustrating to get outdrawn... but it happens at every level and is something you just have to get used to. Also i think these bad beats that you took were magnified due to you playing WAY underrolled for 25NL. Beats tend to hurt alot more when they represent a large % of your total roll.
All you can do is control what decisions you make based on your cards and your reads on your opponents. It doesn't make sense to me when people say "i should move up where donks don't chase draws"... These are the exact spots you should be dreaming about, tables full of fish who constantly chase. Yes they will catch sometime and it will suck, but over the long haul if you continue to make correct decisions you will profit off of these players. With $100.00 i would start at either .02/.05 or .05/.1 NL (if NL cash is your game of choice). I would actually suggest .02/.05 first to improve your game/ get a decent sample of hands under your belt and get you used to practicing good bankroll management early on. Granted, you won't see alot of gain money wise but it may help you get acclimated with a very low risk of bustoing. That's just what I would do, as others have said, if you are willing to redeposit then you can start higher. Good Luck! |

Re: Getting Started Online
Also, here are my stats for the last 40 minutes. Anything I should be looking to lower/raise? The table I'm at is typical. I seem to be the tight/aggressive player who shows down only winning hands. I have shown one A high, but it was because I called another persons bluff.
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 54 hands and saw flop: - 6 out of 12 times while in big blind (50%) - 4 out of 11 times while in small blind (36%) - 4 out of 31 times in other positions (12%) - a total of 14 out of 54 (25%) Pots won at showdown - 4 of 6 (66%) Pots won without showdown - 6 |

He's only got $4.45 behind so you should bet that much and expect to get called by worse hands a large percentage of the time. |

Re: Getting Started Online
Okay, I figured he might reraise me and I'd call/push but he didn't. So I should have pushed him on river instead of a small value bet. Okay, I'll make a note. Thanks for the help it is very much appreciated.
