Even if the dealer doesn't keep his/her own rack, s/he may be responsible for it.

I don't understand how this is even a question.

All good points. Bad karma to take it --- it will come back and bite you if you do.

I am there to win money.
Playing poker.
Not steal.
Not cheat.
I guess I'm "old school".

Yeah, I gave it back. I'm old school too I guess.

Ever since that time, this player has always been willing to check it down with me when they had the nuts because they didn't want to take my money since I was honest about their mistake.

All,

But what do you do if it's a ONE MILLION DOLLAR CHIP? In that case I yell "OMG IS THAT PHIL HELLMUTH" and point, and then pocket the chip when everyone's craning their neck to get a glimpse of the WSOP legend. Then on the next hand I calmly excuse myself to go to the restroom, but instead go to the cage, and then to Mexico before they can figure out what just happened.

Just don't try it at MGM.

83-3 in favor of giving it back. Good to see there's some honesty and fairness here.

Story: A long time ago at the bike I bought in and gave my cash to one of the hostesses who seated me. Without realizing it I was $20 short (capped buy in) and she didn't catch it. About 20 minutes later a floor came over and quietly told me that I was short by $20 and that they had confirmed it from the camera. I checked my roll since I knew how much cash I had and sure enough he was right. I felt pretty bad about it too.

Dear OP,

We're poker players, not thieves. Please distinguish the difference in your mind.
